Phil Rosenthal’s Message to the World

Philip Rosenthal is an American television writer and producer who is best known as the creator, writer, and for the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond.  He has a new show out called “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having” on PBS.  He was recently on “The School of Greatness Podcast” which is where you can listen to the statements below.

Phil Rosenthal’s Message to the World

“You know at the end of the day when we’re all cancelled, one day.  You want to say that I did the thing I wanted to do. I did the show I wanted to do. I lived my life the way I wanted to live and you have to realize what’s important.  Because at the end of the day, your family, your friends, and being good to other people in the world and giving something back to the world and being grateful.  This is at the center of every religion in the world.  My joke is you know is for my show, if those boys from ISIS would just sit down with me and have some chocolate cake everything would be okay.  You want to put something good out there.  There’s enough bad, most things are terrible.  It like the photographs.  We take many many photographs.  Most things are terrible, it’s just how it is.  But you got to take a lot to get to the good.  It’s always been that way.”

He also shared what he was most grateful for.

“My family, my beautiful wife and kids who are you know you don’t even realize it, you take it for granted sometimes but they’re there.  And you know I want to get up every morning and one of my kids is 21 and he is a junior in college, in New York.  So I don’t see him everyday but my daughter is 18 and she is a senior in high school and it’s one of the joys of my life.  I realize, I’m not going to have this forever and you don’t realize until it’s almost gone.  That I got to get downstairs before she leaves for school, I got to be home you know when she’s home.   She has a life.  I want to see her.”

I really enjoyed listening to this episode of “The School of Greatness Podcast.”  Listen to it now by clicking HERE.

Phil is a successful, funny, understanding family man.  He looks to see the humor in life everyday, which is something I know I could do more of.

I look forward to checking out his book, “You’re Lucky You’re Funny: How Life Becomes a Sitcom.” It sounds like a must read.  The fact that universities from all over the country have added it to their curriculum is a huge statement.  Also check out his new show, “I’ll have what Phil’s having!”  (A preview of it can be found below)

Spending more time with Phil can only brighten one’s day.  Thank you for sharing your passion, gratitude, and PHILosophy with me Phil!  Keep on making the world laugh because you will always have an audience.  Sincerely, Chris
