A Tale of Two Junkies

Stealing, Giving, and the Search for More

Some addictions take everything. Others give you something you never expected.

THE STORY

About the Book

Told through raw, gripping vignettes, A Tale of Two Junkies is a semi-biographical story that weaves between past and present, love and loss, self-destruction and redemption.

Jason is running—chasing the next fix, the next hustle, the next way to numb himself. Chris is searching—collecting moments, spreading a message, trying to turn pain into purpose. Their lives collide in a moment neither of them see coming, one that changes them both in ways they don’t yet understand.

It’s about what happens when you face yourself, when you can’t run anymore, when the weight of everything finally catches up.

If you’ve ever questioned the power of a single moment, of a letter, of a choice—this book is for you.

“For readers of Fight Club, Beautiful Boy, and Man’s Search for Meaning, this book isn’t just about survival—it’s about what it means to truly live.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Chris Palmore

Chris Palmore

Chris Palmore’s writing comes from a deeply personal place.

After writing a letter of love and gratitude to his mother in 2013, he lost her to cancer four months to the day later. Nine years later, he found himself back in the same hospice hospital where his mother had passed, this time watching his sister go.

Chris writes from grief, gratitude, presence, and perspective, helping readers slow down, hold tightly to what matters, and recognize the sacred weight of ordinary life.

What Readers Are Saying

★★★★★

Sorrow – Joy – Love – Death – Rebirth – Gratefulness

“Have you ever struggled with the concept of gratitude? If not, kudos! Most of us ‘think’ we get it. However, in my opinion, Gratitude is not about thinking, but feeling. This book will move you from your head to your heart and if you let yourself stay there long enough, you might just experience vicarious gratitude AND if you really let the story sink in you may find yourself experiencing vicarious joy, or muditā as it’s known in Sanskrit. Joy for the characters and the Author!”

— Bobby Kountz
★★★★★

A choice to be grateful

“In this short story, which weaves together reality and fiction, Chris shares insights on how his own journey through gratitude can shape how we all look at life’s challenges. A tiny book that offers an abundance of insight and hope.”
