Who changed your life in a way they might not even realize? What did they do, and how has their impact stayed with you?"

Miss Taylor By Patti

She taught 6th grade at Indian Valley Elementary. At first I was sad I didn’t get into Mrs. Drihem’s class (my best friend Joanie did), however I soon realized the Universe once again had my back. Miss Taylor with her no-nonsense utilitarian style ( aka she had NO fashion sense) was intent on teaching us Life Lessons ( as well as all the CA requirements to pass 6th Grade testing). These Life Skills included but were certainly not limited to : learning how to write a check ( I don’t think my 30+ year old daughters know how to do this ?!), balancing a checkbook ( remember those?) and how to make and maintain a budget. My continuing love for Spreadsheets, Lists of To Dos and checking off DONE were inspired and cultivated by Miss Taylor… an unforgettable remarkable teacher that continues to make a difference in my life 50 years and counting.
